Mangyans for Peace and Sustainable Development

Indigenous-led work advancing land security, culture, education, and sustainable livelihoods

Why MPSD?

Mangyans for Peace and Sustainable Development (MPSD) is an Indigenous-led initiative serving Mangyan communities in Mindoro and abroad. Our work focuses on protecting ancestral domain, strengthening cultural continuity, and supporting education and sustainable livelihoods through community-led approaches.

What we do

MPSD supports Indigenous self-determination through long-term, community-centered initiatives rooted in land stewardship, education, livelihood, and culture. Our work is guided by elders, women leaders, youth, and trusted community partners.

Ancestral Domain: Protection and stewardship of Mangyan ancestral lands through mapping, land claims support, and community governance.

Education: Indigenous-rooted learning, cultural transmission, and youth development grounded in Mangyan knowledge systems.

Livelihood: Community-based, sustainable economic initiatives supporting local crafts, agriculture, and enterprise.

Culture: Preservation and revitalization of Mangyan traditions, stories, language, and intergenerational wisdom.

Our values

MPSD is grounded in respect for Indigenous knowledge, collective responsibility, and long-term stewardship of land and life. We work with humility, accountability, and care for future generations, recognizing that culture, land, and people are inseparable.
